In many ways it still is, but technology is changing that somewhat. The direct mail system is not as popular as it used to be. Salespeople will face rejection sooner or later. He or she is not going to get every client that he or she tries to get. A salesperson cannot make every sale that is attempted. No one goes through their whole life without rejection. For salespeople, however, it is much more common. Some people are mean to salespeople as if they did not matter. When salespeople get rejected, good ones do not feel that it is a personal insult. Choosing not to get upset about being rejected keeps salespeople enjoying their work. These salespeople are aware that most people are good.
